Chi-square (ᵡ2) test of goodness of fit was used to test all the null hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The findings of the study revealed that the impact of Academic Staff Union of Universities Strike on planning and staffing in North-East Nigeria is significant and positive. Based on the findings of this study, the following recommendations were made: Government should at all cost endeavor to pay ASUU internationally competitive remuneration as this would further improve their teaching effectiveness and their retention rate for improved university administration. Government should improve the working conditions of academic staff by granting them employment waiver and full staffing automy as these would reversed the current issues of brain drain by enhancing the remuneration of academic staff within the university community through TETFUND interventions and University’s internally generated revenue as this would make it easier for them to recruit quality staff for effective administration of Federal Universities.
