Abstract

This paper examines the global phenomenon of terrorism and it far-reaching implications for international relations. It analyzes the complex factors driving terrorism, including political, economic, and social grievances, and explores the impact of terrorist activities on global security, diplomacy and cooperation. The paper also discusses the challenges and opportunities for international cooperation in combating terrorism, and argues that a comprehensive and collaborative approach is essential for addressing this persistent threat to global peace and stability.  Using a qualitative research approach, this study reveals that despite efforts to combat terrorism, the global war on terror has had mixed results, with successes in disrupting terrorist networks but failures in addressing the root causes of terrorism. Ultimately, the paper highlights the need for a comprehensive approach that addresses the root causes of terrorism, promotes dialogue and understanding, and fosters international cooperation to mitigate the threat of terrorism globally.
