This paper examines early childhood care and education contribution towards solving many issues and challenges facing Nigeria today. It has been observed that early childhood education in Nigeria is not seen as a key component of public education. This threatens the survival, development and relevance of this type of education. The paper discusses early child education as one of the best investments a country can make to promote human resource development, quality and social cohesion, and when it is well developed it will serve as childhood development with the view to exploring the readiness of the country in its march towards fighting emerging national issues. The paper diagnoses the developmental domains that inculcate social and moral values, social ethics, and childhood education as remedy to emerging national issues. Recommendations and suggestions are made on the challenges facing ECCE in developing children to remain relevant in this global world where peace and consciousness will bring healthier co-existence.
