THE ROLE OF TAWHID IN PROMOTING ISLAMIC CIVILIZATION AMONG MUSLIM IN CONTEMPORARY SOCIETIES

Abstract

Tawhid is the basis of the religion of Islam, the concept of Tawhid which emphasizes the belief in one creator and sustainer of the whole universe gives human civilization a beginning and end, It gives its purpose and provide a sense of direction. The paper takes a look at the role of Tawhid in promoting Islamic civilization. It explains the concept of Tawhid, meaning of civilization and identified the basic characteristics of Islamic civilization. The researcher vividly discuss the major role of Tawhid in promoting Islamic civilization in which it becomes the most distinct, progressive and advanced civilization compared to others in the world. In doing so the researcher consulted literary materials which in essence have significant relations with the current research study at hand. A number of measures were recommended for enhancing, maintaining as well as sustaining Islamic civilization in the society which includes maintaining the teachings of Islam and inculcating it in the minds of individuals. We should refrain from any kind of innovations, and strictly followed what is enshrined in the Quran and the Sunnah of the Noble Prophet (Peace be Upon Him).Which in essence is regarded as Islamic Civilization.
