Abstract

In a region plagued by kidnappings, the language used in ransom demands holds crucial insights. This research delves into the forensic analysis of threat messages from kidnappers in North Eastern Nigeria. By examining linguistic patterns and communication strategies, this study enhanced crime detection technology. The methodology involves text analysis combining qualitative forensic linguistic analysis with quantitative data processing using digital forensics and machine learning. The implications of this research extend to improving law enforcement responses and aiding in the prevention of such crimes. Ultimately, this study contributes valuable knowledge to the field of forensic linguistics and enhances efforts to combat kidnapping threats effectively. Contribution to Knowledge: This research expands understanding of how language can be utilized in technology for crime detection, specifically in addressing the challenges of ransom claims in a high-risk region like North Eastern Nigeria.
