Drug misuse by pregnant may cause miscarriage, preterm labor, birth defects, still birth, withdrawal symptoms in the baby after birth, a higher risk of sudden infant death (SINS), poor fetal growth rate, and cognitive and behavioral problem. The study was carried out on Awareness on consequences of drug misuse on pregnancy among pregnant attending Kabo Primary Health care center Kabo, Kano State. Nigeria. The study aim to assess the level of awareness on consequences of drug misuse on pregnancy among pregnant women, identify the factors influencing drug misuse during pregnancy, to determine the consequences of drug misuse on pregnancy, and to explore the possible to prevent drug misuse on pregnancy. Methodology: A retrospective research design was adopted and population of the study composed of pregnant women attending kabo primary health care center. Record was obtained from kabo primary health care center kabo in which 83 sample size were drawn out of 489 target population using taro Yamani statistical formula, data analysis was done using descriptive statistics and presented using frequency distribution table. Result: The findings from the study shows that majority of the respondents lack awareness on the consequences of drug misuse during pregnancy. Also, the study shows that respondents are between the age group of 25-30 years. In conclusion the findings of the study concluded that majority of the respondents are not aware of the consequences drug misuse comes with during pregnancy. Therefore, the following recommendations were made; government should organized support group for pregnant individual facing drug misuse challenge, Health education and awareness programs should be set to improve their knowledge on the consequences of drug misuse, all pregnant women should have an easy access to counselling and support service.
