This research involves the analyses of physico-chemical parameters (seasonal and spatial) from Nguru lake which revealed fluctuations in the parameters of the water quality, with Typha grass affecting nutrient cycling, dissolved oxygen levels, and sedimentation. The proliferation of Typha grass has significantly altered the lake's physico-chemical parameters ranging from Temperature (20.2 oC-32.9oC), pH (7.0-7.6), EC (137-202 µS/m), TDS (98-108.3 µS/m), Dissolved Oxygen (9.0-9.5 mg/L), Nitrate (3.9-4.8 mg/L), Phosphate (0.6-0.9 mg/L), and Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) (1.8-2.6 mg/L) from the study location and how it threatening agricultural livelihoods dependent on fishing, crop farming, and livestock rearing.
