UTILIZATION OF COMPUTER ASSISTED INSTRUCTION: A MEANS OF ACHIEVING TECHNOLOGY-DRIVEN TEACHING OF BUSINESS EDUCATION COURSES IN COLLEGES OF EDUCATION IN NORTH-EAST NIGERIA

This study aimed at examining the impact of factors influencing utilization of Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) as a means of achieving teaching of Business Education courses in Colleges of Education in North-East, Nigeria. Survey research design was adopted in the study using census sample. Data used for this study was provided by 137 Business Education lecturers from eight Colleges of Education in North-East, Nigeria. The data collected was analyzed using multiple regressions. The results obtained from the data collected revealed that behavioral intention and perceived usefulness have a significant and positive influence on as a means of achieving teaching of Business Education courses in Colleges of Education in North-East, Nigeria. The outcomes implied that Business Education lecturers should be encouraged to use contemporary technologies, in particular computer-assisted instruction, when instructing Business Education courses in educational institutions. This would justify the government's efforts and significant investment in contemporary technologies while also making it easier for lecturers to teach business education courses, particularly in Nigerian colleges of education.
