Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence in biology education has the potential to revolutionize the way students learn and develop essential skills for the digital age. This paper explores the current state of AI in biology education, its application, benefits and challenges. Various AI-powered tools and technologies being used in biology education such as virtual laboratories, intelligent tutoring systems and tools were discussed. The benefit of AI in biology education like improved students engagement enhanced learning outcomes as well as the development of essential scientific skills, such as critical thinking, problem  solving and data analysis were examined. In addition, challenges and limitation of AI in biology education such as accessibility, equity and teacher training were discussed. Recommendations were provided for policy makers and educators on how to effectively integrate AI in biology education by investing in teacher training, developing accessible AI-powered tools and as well as monitoring and evaluating AI- enhanced biology education.
