Abstract

Worshipping God in the real sense of it in various religious locations in Nigeria has become a mirage. People are worshipping with fear and intimidation. Terrorists often invade churches and killing innocent citizens. The aforementioned experiences also happened in the early church, but they did not yet discourage. At the end of the tunnel there is a way. It is on this note that we want to inject the popular quotation of encouragement in the early church to the contemporary churches. To actualize the above objective Secondary source of gathering data will be used in this work, this includes books, journals, archival materials, magazines and a host of others. Interpretative method cannot be divorced from this work because opinion put in place by scholars will be interpreted. It was observed that Christians in some areas in Nigeria are not attending church program as a result of fear of Terrorist. Similarly some churches are embarking on on-line worship. It was recommended that contemporary churches need to allay fear because as churches were been persecuted in the early church so also they are increasing in strength and membership. Members also need to be conversant with the Bible so as to cement their faith as it was in the early church.
